Senechas

20 min walk from the village of Senechas takes you to the river Ceze with rock pools for swimming in. This clean fresh water is as warm as a bath in summer.

St Denis

Fabulous sun bathing and swimming spot. Dive off the rocks into the clean water. There is a restaurant next to the river for meals, snacks and drinks and a childrens play area. St Denis is 20mins from the house.

Villefort

Visit the stunning lake at villefort 20 mins away from the cottage . You are now in the Lozere, the most underpopulated region of France. There is a small beach with swimming and boating allowed on the lake. Have lunch at the hotel du Lac on the terrace overlooking the lake. The speciality is the freshly caught trout. Visit the medieval village of Gaurd Guerin. Beautilfully lit at nightime, the views are inspirirng. Try the restaurants for great food and atmosphere.

We love Villefort, a jewel to be discovered under the grand spectacle of Mont Lozere

Espiguette Beach -Fine sand in rural setting

The King of Languedoc's beaches, Espiguette stretches for kilometre after kilometre of fine sandy dunes. This beach is big enough to find your own space, no matter how many people are there. The walk from the car park can be as long as you want - but the further you go, the more nude and then more gay it becomes. There are no buildings nearby, but in summer the odd drinks seller will pass by. Finish your day here with a drink at nearby Aigues Mortes. This beach is approx 2 hours from Senechas.
